Dr Badria Al-Awadhi, Professor of International Law at Kuwait University. In 1979 Professor Al-Awadhi was appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Law and Sharia until 1983. In 1983 Dr Al-Awadhi was appointed as Deputy Director to the Regional Organisation for the protection of Marine Environment in the Arabian Gulf Region and held this post until 1993. Dr Al-Awadhi has been a member of human rights organisations in the Arab region and on an international level. She is also the author of many books and articles on a variety of legal subjects including women’s issues, international law, and international humanitarian Law.
