Parental Comments/Opinions

1

I am a Canadian, living in Dubai, with two teenagers . They have been attending Emirates International School for over three years and overall they are pleased with the school. Academically the school is meeting the required objectives and they also offer a very good International Baccalaureate program.

2

I am a New Zealander

Overall I have been happy with the standard, and they have been happy with the school. Our main attraction was that they run the IGSCE, (English) qualification, in grades 9 and 10, and have the International Baccalaureate in grades 11 and 12. The IB qualification is well accepted at most tertiary institutes, including NZ.

I have had some issues with several teachers and management, but you would get that anywhere. The facilities are good and their record in the IB course has been usually higher than world standards.

In adding to the comments above, U.S. children may have a bit of a go at adjusting to the British influence/style in teaching at UAE, but overall we have been pleased. We really enjoy our son's teachers.

Regarding EIS, I would add that the extracurricular activities for the primary/junior school are extensive with many sports programs, an excellent International Day, music lessons and an annual theatrical performance by the students. . I would also say that another strength of EIS is the truly international variety of over 80 nationalities that attend the school.

We my husband and I and our two young sons  are from Canada. .  They are very happy at EIS. My children could not be happier .Their teachers are great and the curriculum quite suitable to their needs. The fact that the school has everything on site (sports facilities, theater hall, after school activities...) has been one of the major pluses for us and our children.

We are Canadians and have been living in Dubai for over six years.

Academically both schools (Primary and High )have provided an invigorating learning environment and we have been pleased with the interaction with the teachers. The primary limitation at EIS is the provision of a proper library for the lower grades, Computing facilities have been upgraded for the students and staff. Additionally, extra-curricular have been increased lately.

I am Australian. We have been very happy, on the whole, with EIS. Our two girls started at age 4 and have generally found it a safe, happy and fairly nurturing environment, though more academically oriented than you would expect in the first couple of years in Australia. We all enjoy the variety of nationalities at the school and the range of subjects taught.

A change of principal and senior management has made a huge difference over the last couple of years, in that it has refreshed the school.
