DWC Dress Code

Professionalism and cultural factors determine our standards of dress and personal appearance.

Since Islam requires modest dress revealing clothing may be offensive. All staff should dress in a manner suitable for the business world/office when on the College campus.

For men:
Trousers (no jeans), shirt, collar and tie, (no sandals). Long sleeve shirts and jackets are preferred.

For women:
Trousers (no jeans), dresses and skirts to be knee length or below; blouses to cover upper arms. (no sleeveless tops or revealing apparel). Take care with the height of skirt slits etc.

A female staff member's comment

Women can wear short sleeves for work as long as the sleeve comes to the elbow – no capped sleeve t-shirts!  Also knee length skirts should actually still cover your knees when you sit down.  I’ve been told as well that a good guide to follow is that if you are wearing a ‘knee’ length skirt that is probably best to have ¾ or full sleeves on top and if you are wearing shorter sleeves it is a good idea to wear trousers or a full length skirt.
