| Despite its reputation for being very safe, Dubai is still
subject to criminal activities as is any large city and unfortunately the
influx of drugs has led to more theft.
If you take normal precautions rather than assuming you are completely safe you probably can cut down your chances of being robbed. Locking cars, doors and windows at home are all necessary now which it probably wasn't in the "old " days (10 yrs ago here) when it wasn't. I would strongly suggest you have Home Contents Insurance when you are here. I use Royal Sun Alliance see the website here (and I do not get commission). I live in a villa and I've been burgled, don't let it happen to you. Luckily I was insured with them and they were very good to deal with.
