I have found that shopping in malls and other more attractive and western oriented places to be more expensive than shopping in more local types of places. For example, groceries in the Coops are rather inexpensive compared to the US while goods that I buy in Spinneys are more expensive. This holds true, in my experience, for appliances, clothing, etc.
