"Fondly known as the "Art Centre" this hub of arty-crafty types is actually a small haven of tranquility. The arty ones are busy learning, teaching or
doing. Other visitors are gazing at original pieces of work, looking for gifts to buy, borrowing a book from the library, or just sitting in the
small garden enoying a cup of tea with a friend.
The annual membership fee of Dhs. 200 allows members and children to sign up for some of the many classes on offer each term. Dhs. 300 family membership
includes two adults and children. Children under 18 can have a student membership for Dhs. 50.
A course of classes lasts for 6 or 8 weeks and varies in price according to the materials required during each session. Learn or improve your skills
with over 70 classes on offer each term, ranging from languages, including Arabic, all kinds of painting and drawing, etching, photography, pottery,
sculpture, etc.
DIAC aims to encourage the development of arts and crafts by offering classes and workshops in a wide variety of traditional and contemporary
subjects. It mounts major exhibitions of members' work twice a year as well as two craft bazaars. There is also a very good art shop and framing shop
on the premises."
