Abu DhabiAbu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE and the capital of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and located approximately 150 kms from Dubai along a modern, but very dangerous to drive on, 8 lane highway. It is about 40% of Dubai's size ( my guess) and it is also the wealthiest of the Emirates. Dubai is the capital of the Dubai emirate and though many people seem to think Dubai is a country itself due to the publicity it gets, it is in fact one of the seven Emirates that make up the UAE. More confusing for westerners is the fact that the main city of each Emirate has the same name as the Emirate. The other 5 emirates are are Sharjah, Ajman, Um al Quaim, Ras Al Kamiah, and Fujeirah. The last four cities are quite small.
