HCT National Education Conference
Since the introduction of Education programs in the HCT eight years ago, women’s colleges have taken turns in hosting the annual HCT National Education Conference (NEC) for teachers and educators. NEC Conferences involve education students, graduates, college faculty as well as teachers from local schools. Guest speakers have included education experts from USA, UK, Australia and Gulf countries, as well as representatives from the UAE Ministry of Education. Through the years NEC has provided valuable opportunities for education students to meet and discuss issues with other education practitioners, as well as develop their own professional networks.

Reggio Emilia Early Childhood Center Conference
Education students attended the Conference at the Reggio Emilia Early Childhood Center of Excellence in Italy in 2010. They joined an international study group of teachers and students to discuss philosophy, methodology, current practices and achievements of the Italian Center. They attended 3 days of training for approximately 6 hours a day. Two days were set aside for cultural visits to Milan and a visit to Collegio Nuovo. This was a very beneficial trip as DWC students gained exposure to professional, ethical and leadership issues in a multicultural context, educational management strategies, progressive preschool educational models and practices, all with a view to relating them to a UAE context.
