Melbourne, Australia
Applied Communications students attended the AG Ideas Design Conference in Melbourne, Australia, 2008. The Conference was a great opportunity for DWC students to be exposed to a variety of creative media, listen to guest speakers and network with creative people from around the world. During the trip, the students visited cultural organizations, museums and historical sites, focusing on their field of study (Graphic Design and Media) thus broadening their knowledge of the Australian culture.

Mexico City, Mexico
Applied Communications students and faculty attended the Congress of the Americas II, 2008 in Mexico City, Mexico, titled: Exploring Media Convergence, Public Communication, and Intercultural Communication. They participated in workshops and guest speaker lectures on mass media, journalism, public relations, political communication, photography, and visual design, among many others. There was also an opportunity to discuss media, communication and art in the UAE, through a panel discussion as well as presentation of student work.
